Walbro LP intermittent failure and flow through
So, I'm driving home from filling up the other day and my truck starts having a heart attack. Fuel pressure at the VP is stuck at 13psi and the truck is bucking and coughing. EGTs go up if I try to accelerate quickly, no black smoke, but the truck doesn't die at idle. After about 4 minutes of that everything clears up; fuel is at 19psi; lots of black smoke with the go pedal; and everything seems normal. No codes whatsoever. Went to work the next day and on the way home the psi went to "0" and stayed there. Same symptoms. Pulled off the side of the road to check my under-frame fuel gauge and it also read "0". Tapped everything with a screwdriver, let the truck sit for a minute and everything cleared up. Replaced the fuel strainer and tightened up some loose wires to the Walbro and everything seems fine now. My question is: do Walbro 392 LPs die intermittently (or all gerotor pumps, for that matter) or do they lose psi or do they go all at once? I think I had a loose wire and the pump stopped and the Walbro is not a flow through pump, correct? In other words, the stock LPs can die and the VP can still suck fuel while gerotor pumps die and stop the flow of fuel for the most part. Ideas?....

Mine started going intermitenly and then finally quit. I would replace it with something better (Airdog/Fass) since you don't want to be starving that VP44!

Mine doesn't seem to want to keep up with my go pedal anymore. I did a truck pull yesterday and the whole way down the track it was bouncing from 10 psi to 20 psi, if I accelerate hard from a stop it drops all the way down to 5 psi they shoots back up. Back when I installed it it would never go below 15psi. So I'm probably going to go a different route as well. Psi is still at 20 at idle.

Holley blue
I was using a holley blue and my truck would just intermittenly blow white smoke, spit sputter and eventually die. The pump was intermittenly working. When i finally took it off to check it i couldnt blow through it either direction. I ran a straight hose and havent had a problem since. Hope this helps.
