hi guys ,i had a new lift pump put in my truck oh 5000 miles ago and i have been noticing that the fuel pressure guage is starting to jump around alot. be running down the road at 10 psi and then look over and see 5psi but if i gas it she jumps right to 10 idle is fine stays at 13 to 14. could this mean i need a new fuel filter? i used a napa one last time maybe 5000 miles on it.

thanks

Sounds like the check valve on the lift pump is doing funny things. Try replacing the filter and see what happens.

Also check the wire conections to be sure they're clean and tight.

I had this happen to me after changing out a new lift pump. It turned out to be the relay in the power distribution center. The one under the hood on the drivers side. Just switch it out with another one, like the horn relay for example.
