The HRVP is an excellent pump, alot of us run them. Depending on how heavy you haul, it may get warm towing, but you can control that with the manual trannie.

Will the HRVP cause any kind of a odd idle?

Has anyone heard of the SHO II pump?

I too would be interested in what pump is the best since I think mine is gettig weak. I am beginning to think it is the root of my troubles. Does anyone rebuild the pump you send in for a cheaper price or do you just send in your old one for a core charge? It sure would be nice to know how to do it and just buy the rebuild kit for half the price of a new pump. I'm sure I could really screw that one up!

You might want to look into an SO pump for your truck. A HRVP is said to start to level out with an SO pump once you start tapping the wire and using bigger sticks. Its great without a wire tapping box though.

If you plan on or already have a wire tap box DO NOT waste your money on any type of HRVP. Save your hard earned money and buy and SO pump. It will work without any problems. There have been many who've done it with great success. You will loose a little low end grunt that the HO pump gives, but IMO I'll loose that little bit to keep some coin in my pocket.
