WHich vp44 to buy? ht rod or stocker or
I am commetted to buying a new vp44.
I own a 01 6spd CTD, I have heard maybe the stock 5spd vp44 is better than the 6spd vp.
Also the hot rod injection on ebay for 1600? I have heard there are some idle issues.
Or the factory replacment 01 bosch vp44.?
Any input or advice would greatly be appreciated.
Im trying my darnest to be a faithful CTD owner.

I put a lot of thought into it and ended up getting the Industrial Injection Hot rod pump. I am really happy with it. I use the truck for towing. It idles perfectly. Under no load in the 1500-2000 rpm range, it will "skip" when it is warm, but if there is any load on the motor, it is smoother than stock. It adds a ton of power. I don't use the Van Aaken anymore because that makes it run rough and it has plenty of power now without it. Hope this helps

If you want all the HP out of your truck (550-650), then you will have to go with the SO or HR pump. I don't think that's what your after, So you have to ask yourself is the 80 hp that the HR adds is worth the 6-700 bucks more, or us the stock pump, and do 275's and a ez for the same money

IMO this should be reversed. Also IMO either way I'd go with a SO pump. Like BD said, is 40-80 hp worth the extra 7-800 bucks. For that price your could get som injectors that will add the same or more. Or you could get a box.
Sorry just noticed you've got a box. I'd go SO and get some sticks. You'll be money and power ahead.

If you're looking for big power, go with the SO pump. If you go with a HRVP, a box, and big sticks, the gains will be similar to the SO with the same combo. If you wanted all the power you could have without tapping the wire, then the HRVP would be the way to go.
