I tapped my new VP today with a BD stealth cover and it is just how i remembered it being. So is the count down on or do you guys think i should be good for a while i hope. It just makes me mad that it seems everyone else can run there duramax and powerstrokes fueled up and i can't due to this piece of **** VP. o well i hope it lasts a while it is a MWFI rebuild so they make a quality products.

Give your VP the benefit of the doubt.

Let us know how it goes.

I'm tapping mine soon.

Add little two cycle TC 3 oil from Wally World. About an oz per gallon should do the trick. The extra lube can only help out that new VP.

Hate to ruin some of the fun, I just removed my quad box after about a year (vp44 is one year old), b/c i was throwing some codes p0251 and p0252, which are directly related to the vp44 circuit, or wire tap. I removed it and the code still pops up. I am going to solder my original tap back in this weekend, will keep you updated.

Danimal:

The Dodge Cummins trucks from late 1998 to 2002 have a VP44 injection pump on them, and every power enhancer that adds more than 70hp or so must manipulate this pump directly to do so.

So when we say "tapping the wire" we are referring to the power module connecting directly to the Injection Pump bypass solenoid control wire that governs how much fuel is injected and when.

You'll also hear "timing box and "fueling box" used to distinguish between the milder power enhancers that don't connect to this wire and the stronger power enhancers that do.

"Timing boxes": Edge EZ, Quadzilla XZT+, Van Aaken, Diablosport Powerpuck, etc.

"Fueling boxes": TST powermax, Edge Comp, Blue Chip FMS, etc etc.

Clear as mud? You can always PM me if you have any questions...

Justin

Many thanks

HOHM - thanks for the explanation. Trying to put all the pieces together so I don't get victimized by the dealer anymore...
