the vp lope

I know that if you put 0.093 lines and tubes on a SO or monster vp it will lope. And some guys do this to achieve the sound and others do it for the extra fuel delivery. But why does it lope? To me, it wouldn't seem to be running right. Does it clean up at higher rpm? Why can't it idle smooth? At higher rpm is it just as smooth as before ( with factory lines)?

i always thought a true lope, like on the top fuel dragsters was becasue of the cam. delivers all the fuel it can at high rpm and causing it not to run smooth untill it hits the fueling band notice how the smoke goes from white to black on them pullers

the larger lines allow more fuel to flow raising RPMs ,ECM sees RPMs going up defueling then trying to maintain the correct idle refuels at what the ecm thinks is the right amount and then RPMs go up ...defuel refuel etc...bigger stick can cause the same issue seems to be a non issue off idle

The lope does not raise the rpm gauge at all! I can post a video of mine loping with the idle staying right at 700 and not moving!

Does the erratic idle smoothen out when you rev up the motor? That is one different sounding truck. You have some smoke at idle when the motor is warm?

Your truck sounds awesome Brokenarrow!

What types of looks do you get sitting at a light having it idle like that? LOL

What and incredible truck! Sounds ratty, I love it. The stacks sound great. I am guessing the smoke after the unit is warmed up is from a combination of the lower compression, pump and injectors? How you like that turbo, is it hard to spool?
