Van Aaken smartbox retrofit
This may have been adressed in a previous post. Will a Van Aaken smartbox that is installed on a 2001 HO work if connected to a 1999? Also, there are two leads coming from the box, one conects to the VP the other to the map sensor. Do you need to connect to the map sensor, or will still work only hooked to the fuel pump.
Thanks in advance.

Map sensor is the boost fooler part of it
If you only hook up to the pump you will not be able to go above the stock boost(without setting codes)
If you leave the stock elbow in the wastegate you would be fine.
However, I think there is a huge difference between 20 and 30 lbs of boost on mine.

So if the box is plugged in to the pump, it will deliver the fuel, and if the stock wastegate is left in place, the wastegate will not let boost levels to rise above stock. If the boost levels do not rise above stock, then ovbiously you dont need a boost fooler, correct?
Thanks.
Chad.

you can also get a stand alone boost fooler kit.bd diesel sell em.then you can run higher boost,or better yet trade your box for the rite one with the proper conection.the box may not give its full potential if the map sensor is not used.some boxes sense the boost to give more fuel when the boost is present,if your box doesnt sense the boost it may not give you all the fuel it should.
