valve lash?

For all of you that do our own wrenching, what do you set your valves at?
Ive heard that .008 int. and .018 exh. on a hot engine is the best setting.
Also been told that .010 and .020 on a cold engine is the best.
What do you all think?

Thanks All, Mooseman

I set the valves at .010 and .020 every time. for accuracy of setting I use the cummins 6 inch-lb t handle torque wrench when doing the set. this ensures uniform setting across the board.

Just my oddball little way of doing things. good luck
