There's nothing wrong with using the turbo as an air supply source, as long as the relative low pressure it produces is enough for the job, and you don't need a large quanity of air. Just plumb a line, with a one way check valve, to the supply tank, or what ever?. You won't ever see any more air pressure than what ever the maximum boost was, but if that's enough, the turbo is a good air supply source.

There's a guy who posted a write up on the web somewhere that did just that. He built his own exhaust brake and used the manifold pressure to fill a tank, then used that pressure to operate his EB. Of course you're only going to get about 30psi.

seen a similar home made set-up at an offroad park...we came out for lunch and the guy had his jeep/buggy parked with 1 wheel up on the trailer, and the other end jacked up...welding some steering components back together to finish the day. that would be awesome to have air, generator, welder, and right on the recovery vehicle. expensive but invaluable.
