Why are you replacing the lift pump and return lines on a 12v? Is it bad?
Just Asking,

OK, just checking. Didn't wast to see you waste money that could be used for good BOMBing equipment.
I know I wouldn't want to waste some of mine, which was in short supply until my refund checks came.
Anyway, to your original question, I would listen to the people on this board, and talk to a few site vendors. Maybe Rod@Wildcat, or Merrick@Laredo, or some of the others. They won't steer you wrong, and they have some great advice. And I forgot JR Adkins, they will all help.
I would help but I'm still learning, but have gotten to the DANGEROUS point.

I'd go with what Jim Fulmer told me about the plate, go with a #10, good all around plate with plenty of adjustability.
Too bad I already had my #8
