upgraded filter with FASS 150 HPRP

So I have had my fass 150 W/o Filters for almost 8 years it was originally the fass 90? the weep hole leaked after 2 years and fass replaced it free with the 150. I have been just using the oem 10 micron filter and the pre/screen prior to the fass with no issues. but would like to know if it would be recommended or safe to put up stream the universal unit that has a single or double filter head. they are somewhat cheap and would be better filtering. just don't know if my fass pump would be labored since it was never designed like that? fuel pressure is great always has been 19-20 idle, 16ish at WOT.
IF this pump ever dumped on me I would likely go with a FASS,AIRDOG full meal deal at that time.

How many have done what Im asking about

Bump. no one has experience with using a univeral spin on fuel filter with a fass 150 w/out filters.

or I could keep what i have and pop in a early 3rd gen oem fuel filter I believe is a 7 Micron vise the 10 I'm using now?

I have an aftermarket inline universal that I replaced the oem filter with, cost per filter is less, good psi. I feel the 10 mic is fine.

I would get a Baldwin PF7977 for the stock filter housing, its a 5 micron filter. I used them in my 2nd gen and have always used them in my 3rd gen trucks.

Good to hear. I will do that. I would be concerned if i was still using the stock lift pump but since I'm not and I have a good fuel pressure gauge the 5micron should not have a issue.
