You need to deside what hp range your going for to start, and how much you want to spend. yes the tranny is a good place to start, tc. and vb. will be good to 400 or so hp, but if your going for more power go ahead and buy a built tranny. you can add a pusher pump to the intank model and will work quite well. then some big sticks (injectors) a bigger fueling box (could stack the ez with a tst comp) and a bigger turbo or turbos and then you will have your hotrod

Install the big line kit. Get a Valve Body And some Mach 1.6 Injectors and you will have a great tow machine... with great pep and fun to drive daily (325-350 HP)!

If you have the money, do a full rebuilt tranny (amazingly different driving experience) and replace the EZ with a Smarty.
Valve body/full rebuild - I would sp w/ Stephen at DTT http://www.dieseltrans.com/

Look at the post above for the injectors, (Formula 1). Valvebodys can be had from any of the major trans. vendors (DTT, HTS, Goerend etc.) I'm running HTS. www.htstransmissions.com

Anytime you increace HP you run the risk of finding the weakest link, but that setup should give no problems, just watch you egt's keep them under 1350 and you should be good to go

Generally... Quality.
Mach 1.6's will smoke less, give lower EGT's and honest HP level!
Many are happy with the tips for the price. Tips offer different technique for drilling holes, in general earlier technology with economy in mind... as opposed to performance and durability.

Injectors are not a place where I feel comfortable cutting corners! JMO. Your choice.

HTS does excellent work but a long way away... unless they have an installer in your area, or are you knowledgable enough to DIY?

Yes a valvebody should hold that combo. My stock trans was holding a ez and 1.5's. But I didn't tow much.
