unhooking MAP sensor

I have the edge ez on my truck, and i unplugged the map sensor right at the motor....left the ez still hooked up like normal..and now it will pour out all kinds of black smoke...by unhooking that like i did..what exactly is it doing??? aside from pouring out all that smoke.. will it hurt anything to have it like that????

it wont hurt anything

and what it is doing is not reading the boost #'s. This allows it to dump all the fuel in at a earlier RPM when the engine cannot burn it. Thus all the black smoke

i was one of the first to run my comp like this. i left it that way for a long time and never did any damage....

could i splice those wires and hook in a switch to the dash so it would be normal or if i flipped it i could get alot of black smoke?

i would like the smoke all the time also. i just figured it is just wasting alot of fuel for no reason so i thought of the switch just for a little fun from time to time. i will probably just go ahead and give it a try and see what happens..
thanks again.

There are lots of post on this if you search a little. I would think all that extra fuel might do a little cylinder washing...over time.

I haven't bombed my truck yet but I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt nothing on a stock truck, here is the stupid question where is the dang thing located.

You shouldn't do it without a box that does boost fooling. Like EZ or the Comp.
It just won't work and will only set a CEL.

It is located just behind the fuel filter....but wat Scottsjeeprolet said was it won't work without boost fooling. ECM will defuel without the signal and the truck will have NO power.

I did this with my juice and it worked great for a few days then just driving one day I lost all my power, it was all I could do to keep going about 30mph on flat ground with no trailer, I plugged it back in and all was well, but it does pour some smoke unplugged, I like the switch idea, which wire should be switched??
