Un-tapped Adrenaline

Ok, I know I'm probably going to catch some flack for this but... After spending some time with the owner of from Performance Diesel Specialists yesterday and installing my new injectors I'm gonna refrain from tapping the VP until my new turbo is finished. (hybrid BB) I dont think my stocker has much life left in it.

My questions are:

Will high Idle and TT work un-tapped?
Which tune would be best un-tapped?
I'm wanting to get the Smarty off of my truck, does the tire re-size stay with the truck after being set to stock?

p.s I know I could just tap it but that little voice in my head says to wait or bye bye HY!!

Yes the TT will work untapped. The tapping will effect Throttle response and Fuel Timing (maybe more?) so you'll be missing out on some really fun Power!

It won't effect anything leaving it untapped, other than no added power over PL02.

As for the smarty, tire size goes back to stock...

Just tap it and make sure your wastegate is operational to keep boost below 32 psi. That HY will be happy 28-31 psi.

Blue,

We checked the end play yesterday and although I cannot remember the exact numbers I know she (turbo) is on its last leg. Once I get my new charger in ill tap but until then ...

When I start the truck in the morning, normally I put the truck in neutral and go get ready for work. Will the high-idle engage with the truck in neutral?

After getting it installed this morning. I un-programed the smarty from 7 and ran the adrenaline on pl2 (un-tapped). Observations below:

- Less low end power. This is with the production tune though. ADR1001
- Less smoke. (welcomed sight)
- EGT's higher. averaged almost 100 degrees higher while crusing.. (lack of timing?)
- Shifts smoother/better. With the smartys torque management gone the truck seems to shift smoother and not as sparatically.

- Is there a tune that will give me the low end fueling of the smarty without tapping the VP?

Thanks
Frank

Try the aggressive tune and see how you like it.
