Types Of Fuel Gauges

What type of fuel gauge is be best. I personally dont care for running fuel in the cab (but thats mainly cause I would never do that in any of my gasser race cars)

I've had diesel in the cab for quite a few months without problems. I put the gauge on the bottom part of the dash, in front of my transfer case shifter...in case of a leak. but I am not worried about a leak. This way seems like there is just less possibilities of parts that could break and things that could cause the gauge not to read correctly.

Mechanical + no isolator = no problems. Just get some good tubing. No nylon or copper. I'm personally running stainless steel braided, but Kevlar should be good too, with less noise. And with a needle valve you can immediately shut off the supply if you smell a leak. There should be no leak for a long time. Even if there was, at least it's just diesel and will evaporate. I'm looking into getting a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Although tempting, I just can't see myself plumbing OIL into the cab...
