Twins Questions and Color Choice!!
Ok I just recieved my Twin Turbo kit in the mail today from Source Automotive . I got the kit that is unfinished, so I do my own welding, grinding, sandblasting, and coating.
Question is What do I all coat?
Can I coat the hot pipe or will it get too hot, exhaust manifold??, Can I do the intake horn??
As far as the poll goes what color should I use?? The boots are a bright blue, truck is white. I dont really want it to "blend" in (for the cost I want it shown!! )

I used POR 15 to paint the hot pipe, turbo exh. housing, and manifold and this stuff stays on its been 6 months and 8000 miles looks like the day I put it on. As for the cold pipe IMO paint it blue that matches the boots.

You really should heat wrap the hot pipe so It wouldnt matter what collor it is. As for the cold pipes I went with a hammertone paint that is dark gey with the blue boots and blue powder coated valve covers. I still want to do the alt bracket the same color blue along with the heater lines etc.. Then I want to blast the air horn to match the compressor housings..
The colors of the valve covers are closer to matching the boots than the pict shows..

AK Ram painted his exhaust housings on his turbo's and the exhaust manifold with the previously mentioned POR paint. They look like new still. On the cold pipe, if you want to show them off, you could have them chromed.

As far as the POR coating goes I imagine I would need to go with a high temp blend. Is black and grey all that is offered?
Thanks for the info guys this is exactly what I'm looking for!!

I believe shipped to my door (very quick I may add, was impressed) $2900 that included the tacked together pipes (some were completely finished) and a 14cm housing for my 35.
The kit seems to be very complete and of good quality. I talked to the guy and quote "we design these kits making sure you never have to run to the hardware store in the middle of the project, all the little pieces are included"
ok so that quote is not exact, but somewhere along those lines!!
I'll try and lay it all out tonight and get a couple pics to post

Congrats on your purchase! My cold pipes are powder coated a spackel dark gray. I have not coated the hot pipe, but I have it wrapped. I have seen both the POR and Jet Hot coated pipe. I think I am going to do the Jet Hot, on the outside of the pipe only.

I think the Midnight blue would be cool. Please tell how the install goes and how they perform. I just got the same thing. I wont be able to put mine on for a few months though.
