How about the oil lines for the turbos, do you put a Y in the line that is already there, and run one to each turbo?

There is a plug on top of where the oil filter mounts that you can install a new line in. I'd gate the 35/3b combo down to about 50 and just do the studs. I doubt your gonna be able to run mach 6's. Mach 4's would probably work very nicely though.

Here are some pics of NeedMoPower's setup. Exhaust goes first into the small top turbo, then out and into the big bottom charger then out. Intake goes through the air filter into the big bottom turbo then out and into the intake side of the small charger.

The HT3b has a 5" outlet and you will at least need a 5" downpipe. A 5" exhaust would be better yet.

I would say 55psi with studs only. Some HG's hold better than others. Your's may not like 55 psi with studs.

Correct me if im wrong but that pipe looks like 4 or 5 inch exhaust pipe with a few 90 degree bends. looks like that part would be moderatly easy to build.

The cold pipe is usually built out of exhuast pipe.

can i get a detailed list of what will be needed for 35/ht3b turbo set up? sorry, im green in the twins department.

so basically, the clean air goes into the bottom charger, then to the top one, then through the intercooler and into the engine?

Then the exhaust comes out through the top, smaller charger, then to the bottom charger, then out the exhaust?

what do ya fasten the HT3B to? i know i will have to fabricate soemthing to hold it, but what does it bolt to?

Thanks again, Brian

It always looks easier... Also remember NMP is using a B2, the outlets are different on a HT3B.. He is using 4in piping for both hot and cold sides.. You'll need to have a beed rolled (or buy them already rolled) or weld some tabbs on the end of the piping..

You've got the pipe routing correct. Your gonna have to fab something up to hold the ht3b on. If I'm correct, the way my buddy did it was he has a plate that bolted onto the exhaust housing of the 35 and then ran a 90* elbow into a flat plate and bolted the 3b to that.

I'd do the hotpipe differently. You want it as short as possible to minimize heat loss between turbines.

in addition, thermal barrier coating and LOTS of header wrap are good ideas as well.

hey brian, take a look at my gallery for some pics of the process. here too, i think there might be a couple more there. the bottom turbo i'm running is a little (tiny) bit smaller the the 3b, but basically the same. i've got a very slightly ported head, .020" over head gasket and NO studs. regular old $100 napa bolts. i see 50psi+ often enough to not think it's a problem. have fun with the project.

That's a good pic of how the turbos mount to each other. Your gonna need a brace that supports the HT3B from the bottom.

Bigblue,
Can you reused your stock exhaust manifold, and flip it upside down (on a 12v or 24v)? Will it fit like that, that would be a money saver over having to buy a ATS 3-piece manifold.
thanks, tim.
