digging up my old thread

Well life has taken priority and stalled my twin setup. However, things are changin' and the truck is bumped up on the list. So same thing. A single turbo upgrade that will lend itself to twins duty. It does seem that the biggest thing to keep the tranny cooler is the bottom turbo. Looking like the S400, with a s300 upper. Seems like the availability of turbos has changed greatly over the last year. Looking for updated info and suggestions.

why not just move the tranny cooler? it isn't that hard to do and it would free up alot of room for a good lower turbo mount. I run a stout lower turbo mount. When I built my twins I started there, mounted the lower turbo and worked my way up. So far no leaks no loose bolts no worries. I did blow a intercooler boot off on a 75-80psi run once but I fixed that problem too. One thng I am looking into is a remote mount oil filter kit. Changing the oil filter has become a PITA.

Yep, oil filter change is a pain with the BD twins I have as well. I installed the Amsoil dual bypass remote filter, just to make the oil changes easier.

My experience with a SPS 62 is they just don't work well on a 24 valve motor. If you tow or want to use it in a twin it isn't the turbo to use.
12 valve motors they seem to work ok.
