turn signal wire tap location
I'm installing a set of the new Extendable Towing Mirrors (from Mirror/Mirror) this afternoon. I purchased the "Delux" model with the LED lights and want to tap them into the turn signal. If anyone has access to a 2000 Service Manual, or has tapped into the wires, I would like to know which wires to use (left/right turn signals). Any help would save me hours in tracing the wires back down from the signal switch.
Thanks,
Franklin

I installed a set on my 2002 2500 this summer. It was easier to tap into the wire at the signal in the fender, and just run it through the firewall. The wiring harness seemed to 'tight' to mess with under the steering column.

I was able to find the correct search "words" to use and came across an old thread from 2 years ago that gave the wires: dark green with red stripe, and brown with red stripe. I had everything installed and was waiting to find the correct wires to splice into -- I needed to find the answer here or purchase a repair manual and wait for it to arrive.
Besides the mirror's turn signals working correctly, I've also noticed the mirror lights come on when I step on the brakes -- must be tapped into the rear turn signal lights...
How do you like your ETM mirrors? My initial take is that I'm not happy with mine. The main mirrors are too narrow to view more than one lane of traffic. The convex mirrors are too short to view side traffic and still see the tires (I like watching the lines while backing into a parking spot). I've added additional 1.5" convex mirrors just so I can see everything. Time will tell... I'll keep an open mind.
