I hope someone can help me out here. I want to get a turbo timer (TT) for my 96 CTD. When I go to ebay, you can get them from about $30+ but if you put diesel in with the search they go to $150+ do I need one made for the diesel? The way I understand it works is that when you turn the key off the TT maintains 12Volts to the fuel shut-off. Now I know that there are two relays in the system the one that opens the shut-off takes alot of amps to work but the one that holds it open does not and I think thats the one that the TT would work with. So I'm thinking you don't have spend the $150 for the TT on the diesel. If I am wrong aout this will someone set me straight.

 

you need one that will keep the fuel pump runnig and some of the elec also.

mine even keeps the a/c running for whatever amt of time you pick when you get out of the truck.

i cant remeber what the name is but it does waaaayy more than just operate the fuel sel. ill let ya know if i get the name.

i realized yer truck is a 7100 pump aint it.
it will only control the fuel sel but my brother got the same model timer as i do and his is mechanical too so itll still werk
