Does a 2000 CTD 4x4 with a auto have a silencer ring in the turbo inlet hose? how much louder is it with it removed? and performance gains? leave in or take out?

its in the turbo itself not the hose,remove the hose and look into the turbo,theres a snap ring holding it in,2 small flatblades will get the ring out and the silencer ring will come rite out.no performance gains,just whistles more especially with a bhaf.

 

I removed mine today ... not impressed! I didn't hear much, if any, difference. I heard if you take the snorkel out of the stock air box, that improves the whistle ... is this true???
