Turbo ?'s
Thanks in advance for any info, Ive searched but cant come up with a definitive answer.
I just bought a 2001 auto, and have insalled guages, mbrp 4", and a comp box. With the comp on 4 & 5 the EGT's climb super-fast on the auto compared to the way my HO climbs. My question is how much of an upgrade is a stock HO turbo over the stock auto turbo, and will I have any trouble spooling it up? I want to be able to use the higher levels on the comp, but right now they're useless because it gets super hot. Also, will stacking a smarty with the comp be a nail in the coffin of my stock transmission? This is my 4th 24v, but my first auto, so Im not really sure what to expect.

What HP level is your goal? An hx-35 will buy you some time with a comp only but not if you get some sticks. Also.. the comp on anything other than EZ mode is going to be the nail in the coffin for your tranny.

Thanks for the info, looks like Im going to be spending some bucks on a trans...
I think I'll leave the HY35 on the truck until I buy a bigger single. Ive had the comp on the truck for about a week, and on anything higher than 3x5 the trans seems to get mad! The EGT's were super high with the HY but I made my own wastegate hook, and now its making about 27 psi, which helped the EGT's a ton. I guess its not worth the work swapping to a HX35, since my trans cant handle the power the truck is making right now anyway.
Thanks again.
