Question Turbo Recommendation

Hey guys,
I want a single turbo that has exceptionally fast spoolup, like my stock hy-35 or better. I have an edge comp box and will add whichever injectors are needed. I don't tow and I don't haul very much. I just drive it on 5X5. All thoughts are welcome. Scott

You're not going to find a turbo that spools faster than your HY35, while still providing more airflow or turbine flow. The KSB1-2 is, in my opinion, the fastest spooling charger that can support 375-400 HP. KSB1-2, Comp, Mach 1.5s is good for 380 HP. You will still see some warm temps (long hard pulls will see 1400 - 1500), but spoolup is about the same as an HX35, which is to say a couple hundred RPM slower than you're seeing right now.

Agree with Rod!
I had bigger injectors before I added KSB1-2, so I noticed a slightly slower spool up - but nowhere near the increased lag I expected. Took all of 1 day before I didn't even notice the difference - and my boost level went from 34 psi to 48 psi.

If you added slightly bigger injectors (like the 1.5's) and the KSB1-2 at the same time, you might not see any slower spool up; but no turbo on a CTD is faster (or smaller) than the stock HY-35.

Ok, well that kills that idea. I have seen some discussions about smaller sets of twins, but nothing has been mentioned definitively about the possibility. Is there a twin setup, in theory, that could use my hy-35 and a bigger primary turbo? I want a setup that is really quick light to light. And I figure having my edge comp reworked to be an edge comp drag will help a bit on the top end.

Twins with HY-35 have not proven themselves as yet. many have tried to make it work with little luck.
Also, I believe all twins spool slightly slower than their smallest turbo! It's physics and the nature of the beast!

Well, It would seem that I'm going to need to rethink my approach to this whole fast spool up quest.
