Turbo questions

Can someone tell me:
- what turbo came stock on my truck?
- is there any upgrade, housing etc, that will give me some noticeable improvement that wont cost an arm and a leg?
I do tow a trailer of 10m plus, so I could use a quicker spool up. FASS system is coming soon...

A 2000 truck would still be a Holset HX-35 (12cm exhaust housing). The HY-35 (9cm exhaust housing) started on the SO (auto, 5-speed) trucks in 2001.

EDIT: correction, POURINDIESEL is correct, brainlapse. Automatic, SO trucks are the only ones with 9cm HY-35 turbos.

A Dodgezilla, or any of the hybrid turbos with an HX-40 compressor side and HX-35 14cm exhaust side will bolt right in and give a lot more flow.

Dodgezilla

What are your EGT, boost, etc running now?
I'm sure someone here more knowledgable than me can stear you right if you need a turbo upgrade.

EGT's seldom get over 9-950 post turbo towing up steep hills. WOT is about 30 lbs boost. Thanks for your input.

You could just ugrade to a 14cm wastegated housing. Should help cool things off a little.
