which turbo for my second turbo for twins..
What should i buy for a second turbo.. I wanna go to twins and i already have a HTB2 62/14, what should i get for the big turbo.. i was thinking a HT3B.. and switching my injectors to Mach 6's along with doing studs.. kinda get it all done at once.. i'm looking for 60-70 lbs of boost.. and something that will cool the EGTs with all the mods i have listed but switch the bd injectors for the mach 6's... like.. i don't wanna go above 1300 degrees.. ever ;x This will be for towing rig too.. prolly 10k lbs max..

I forgot to mention my personal choice though...Garrett GT45R! It's a bit of an exotic, but the GT4202 is "basically" the same compressor as the S400/B2, with more exhaust housing options. It also has a smaller exhaust wheel, so it should spool a bit faster than the B2.
Just food for thought if you're looking for plenty of options

RonA, not trying to cause trouble but curious as to why you say 3b. Have you tried b2. I have a 3b and it does ok but doesnt cool as much on the top end as I'd like.

I've tried a K31, BHT3b, and B2. I currently run an SPS62/K31 setup most of the time. I can swap the B2 in by just sliding my exhaust forward(1 bracket). I like the B2, but the BHT3b /22cm spools faster. On a 500hp truck the spoolup is important. My daily setup is SPS62/K31, mach 1.2's, 16deg timing. It dynos at 490. Leaving everything else the same and swapping in the B2 it did 518. The extra power is all on the very top. The truck actually feels faster with the K31 and is a better daily driver. I feel it is important to start getting the air early so your egts build continuously instead of going high and then coming back down. That concept makes a case for the GT42-02. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

I think the biggest (and only ) reason the HT3B might out perform a B2 is the 22cm housing. Put a 26cm on it and see if it's closer!
Also, as Ron mentioned, that's why some are trying the GT42-02 with smaller housings...down to 1.01A/R! I think I'm going to start with that on my GT45R (Ball bearing, with a 81.6mm wheel) and see how it spools and cools.
The only drawbacks to those small primary housings is the need for an wastegate, but that aides in tuneablilty, so I consider it an even trade!
IMHO,
Chris

Chris.
I think you should sent the gt45 to me. I'd hate to see you go through all the trouble of putting it on and then not be happy with it. It would be like that commercial for "The Christian Childrens Fund" (just an example, I'm sure it's a good organization). You send me the turbo and I'll send you photos and updates. Probably even a Christmas card. I wouldn't offer to just anyone(am I sucking up too much).
