Turbo Info.

With an edge juice w/attitude being my only real performance enhancement, I would like to get to 450hp @ the wheels. I'm currently looking at DDP Stage 3 (110hp) injectors and need a turbo to finish it off. I tow a 6500lb trailer a few times a year and will probably turn the edge down or off while towing. I would like a good performing daily driver so spool up is important. I'm not sure which turbo would spool like the hy35 I have now? I'm not even sure I will need a turbo or not? Also would the injectors and juice get me close to my 450hp goal? Thanks.

i would imagine that things might a lilttle toasty with the little HY i would at least upgrade to a HX exhaust housing and block the waste gate, that will keeps things a little cooler. im running a HX with a disconnected wastegate and i have the BD version of the edge comp, on stock injectors i can see 1300 @ 32-35 PSI which is fine if you dont keep it there for long and your just playing around on the street. its also is a good upgrade for towing. it keeps things cool with the extra air above 20PSI while im towing about 10k. it does get a little toasty with the box on while towing tho. the spool on the 12cm hx housing isnt too much slower then the 9cm on the hy. i think if you go this route you can keep things cool while playing on the streets and with the box way down or off while towing you still get plenty of spool and drivability without worrying about temps.

if money is no hurrdle i would suggest a HTT turbo with a 13cm SS housing

You will certainly need more air. Id also invest in the transmission before that pops.

Tranny upgrades are in the very near future. Would 110hp injectors and edge juice get me 450hp? Or do I need closer to 150hp injectors? Also would ddp stage 3 injectors spool a Super B Special turbo fast enough to be a decent driver or is this too big of a turbo for my set up? Anybody tried a PDR HX40 turbo or is that too small?

Nobody else has any idea what turbo size would keep my truck cool while towing with a juice and 110hp injectors?

A 62/14 will keep the egts in check if you are only looking for 450 hp and you turn the box off while towing. However like a couple people said, your going to have to address your tranny or you'll be using the shoe leather express.

I'm going to rebuild my own tranny with some extra clutches and other goodies. I will add a valvebody and torque converter as well.

I've searched for hours for a turbo and am looking at an ATS Aurora 3000. Anybody ever used one of these? Would Mach 1.6 or DDP Stage 3 injectors be a good match to this turbo or would I need something more for 450hp?

Im a big fan of the indistrial phat shafts. If you think you have enough fuel to push a 64 you could go that route and have a little more room for future mods.
If you ask for one of the techs there, Im sure they could tell you what level of fueling that would need. Im willing to bet those injectors and programmer are plenty.

Back when a ran a SB Special as a single I towed more weight than 6500 lbs and it did pretty well. I had Mach 6+ injectors at the time.
