If only adding small amt of hp in the future (up to 325+/-), you can just block off the wastegate tube completely and still not worry about over boosting.

Elbow only serves a purpose if you can over rev the compressor.... say more than 35 psi boost.

Forgot to ask would it be more beneficial to block the wastegate, if so what does that exactly do and how do you do it

Check out the installation instructions on www.tstproducts.com on the fuel plates. You can slide your fuel plate forward to gain a little more hp. Blocking the wastegate won't hurt. Like mentioned above, as long as you keep it under 35 psi. But I don't even think you can reach that level with a stock fuel plate that's slid forward. Blocking it and boost elbow is practically the same thing.

Not more beneficial...just easier than tapping, etc.. Keeps the wastegate from activating and prevents limits on turbo boost. May prevent wastegate from opening partially, too early...as some high mileage WG's do.

One easy way is to unscrew current elbow at turbo (pictured above) and replace with a $.50 pipe plug. Disconnect hose at wastegate and store all for possible need later...as you add fuel and get over 35 psi.

If unfamiliar with wastegate operation...and turbos in general, good read Here

I just used the screw that came out of the intake manifold when I hooked up a boost gauge.
