All turbos chop the air.

Not enough drive to keep the charger lit. What you are describing is normally called "surge" or "compressor stall".

My DodgeZilla would do something like that at about 14-20 psi of boost under 5th gear low RPM throttle.

Sort of a ch-ch-ch-ch-ch sound?

Sounds like surge to me, i know you paid big bucks for that turbo and you want it to run perfect everywhere, but you just can't lugg it that much with a load. Try another gear, more throttle, or if none of those are good options for you, buy a smaller turbo.

just try a bigger turbine... you're trying to feed the engine more air than it can take, and it's like putting your hand over a vacuum, it speeds way up, then stalls... put a bigger hot side on it, and you'll have the thing balanced out better.

also, why on earth would you be in 6th gear at 45mph?

If I'm cruising at around 1400-1500rpm I can hear my turbo ticking. It did it with my HY, my ksb-1, and now my ps62.

Yeah....

If you look at where you are at on the compressor map, don't be surprized if is right up there near the surge line. Low RPM high boost normally.

the only way to make the surge go away is to put more fuel in to the engine at that point. the engine is only letting so much through, and the turbo is supplying it with more air. and when it has no place to go the compressor wheel beats itself up or chops the air, making that "Brdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdr" sound that you hear. eventually it can bend the inducer blades on the compressor wheel backwards. have you considdered a blow off valve? Its like a waste gate but releases pressure on the intake side.
