Turbo booost 02 auto

Does anybody know a good way to get extra boost pressure out of an 02 automatic? I already have the BD J-Hook. I got about 2 more psi. Does this sound about right? Anyway, any other additions that will give me a little more psi?

Are you running any type of boxes, like a edge Ez or Edge Comp ect? If you are not running a box that has a boost fooler in it and you try to get more boost out of your turbo, you are going to set off codes in the trucks computer, which means it will cut back fuel and not run to its potential. You should fill out your sig under the User Cp so everyone has an idea of what you got. A few extra PSI is not going to do anything for performance unless you have added more fuel to the mix.

Yep. CTD is right. I did the whole plug-your-wastegate thing on mine and the only thing it did was throw codes and defuel. Get a boost fooler or a box and then you can look at more boost. by the way, i wouldn't run more than 35 psi on your stock headgasket.

How much boost are you seeing right now? I have never used the J hook before, but i use to run a turnbuckle on my stock Hy 35 and would see about 33 psi of boost with my comp box hooked up on level 3. Does the J hook have any type of adjustments to it that you can make?

The J-Hook is basically a turnbuckle...Even on level 5x5 I can only produce 20 psi and don't really know why

Something definetely ain't right then. My guess is either you have a leak somewhere like the intercooler boots, or your wastgate is stuck open not allowing it to build more boost. With the comp and my turnbuckle I see between 32 to 35 psi.

Nick...Is your turnbuckle a Bully Dog? If so when you measured your spring after the turnbuckle adjustment, did you measure the length of the entire spring or just the length of the coils themselves of the spring in making the 1 3/4'' adjustment ?

Mine is actually a turnbuckle from Ace hardware....no spring in it what so ever. I just measured from the arm on the wastegate and made a bracket to attach the other end to and just clamped it completely shut.

And I'm not sure there is a way to fix a wastegate that is stuck open. If you had the HX35 turbo than they are options.......but I don't think they make one for the HY35.

02 auto with TST J-hook, EZ = ~26psi boost for me. The J-Hook only gained about 8 psi, I was hoping for more. Just checked my boots again and everythings tight and good. If your only seeing 20psi and a comp you have a leak somewhere. Stock without J-hook was max 18 psi. It's very quick to 25 psi but then the gate must open.

Good luck, just some 02 numbers for ya.
