I really love my AEM intake.........sounds freakin sweet!!! I noticed after I took my silencer ring out that I almost have to "try" to make the turbo bark. With the ring in it would bark almost everytime I let off!!!

I noticed the same thing as Nick .... on a KSB-1 I had previously. Removing the Silencer Ring seems to allow some of the back pressure from a "bark" somewhere else to go...other than into the fan blades.
Barking is back pressure creating a compressor stall..... quickly decelerating the spin speed of the turbo. It's created by rapidly reduced throttle pressure and can puts serious strain on the turbo shaft. Not good for it, IMO

BHAF, I think they are about $70 and will make your turbo sing a little better along with pulling the silencer ring. A scotty II would really do the trick.
