turbo

I have a 2001 with an edge juice with attitude. All I get for boost is 18-19 lbs. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to get more boost from the factory turbo?

Check and make sure your wastegate is set right, the factory turbo can flow up to 35lbs efficiently.

I had a 2001 with an edge juice w/ attitude and could easily hit 40lbs. That was with the stock turbo so i would definately say that isn't normal

What kind of adjustment can be made to the waste gate? And how do you do it? Thanks.

I have a Banks Big head wastegate on my HX-35 and am able to hit 45lbs.
If you plan on keeping the turbo awhile, an aftermarket wastegate isnt a
bad idea. As for wastegate adjustment on an HY, try a search in the DTR
forums.

you will need to get a turnbuckle or J-hook to prevent the wastegate from opening to soo. the 01-02 autos have a hard line going in the compressor housing and not a 90* brass elbow. Here's a pic of TST's j-hook.

Personally I like the J hook as it still lets the WG open. Too many turbos meet their maker with turnbuckles. The HY is a little less resilient to high boost/rpm.
