In the short 3 months that I've had TST's PM3 remote, I've gotten vary irritated at the 'feel' of the buttons on the face of the remote. They're very hard for my fat fingers to press reliably and I miss them half the time resulting in me ending up with about a minute of pressing the buttons before I get to level 9.

Tonight I finally got around to voiding my warrenty and pulled the remote apart. It's very well built inside and very cleanly laid out. Once I pulled it apart it was appearent why the buttons work so ineffectively: the holes for the buttons are a 3/16" hole for me to put my 5/8" fingertip into. (calling all math whizzes! )

After removing the front plastic faceplate with the buttons on it, I whipped out the trusty dremel and enlarged the top and bottom holes to ~1/2" ovals. Temporarily sticking the plate back onto the face, I was pleasently greeted to very slight resistance resulting in positive feedback when the button was depressed. 100% better than the original design.

Yep, I hate those buttons too!!!! Takes me way too long to get to nine !!! But I just leave it on nine except when its snowing. The only way I can push em is with my fingernail! Gonna do the mod you did, good show!!
