from a TST to a TS with a Smarty
so wondering if anyone has gone from a TSTpmx 3 to a TS performance box. while using a smarty. I currently like the TST had it trouble free for a few years. but seeing more TS performance boxes and I have never tried them. i dont know much of them. I know the TST is POD while im driving. is the TS the same or is this box like a EDGE EZ. thanks for the help TDR.
and Merry Christmas to all and Happy holidays.

IIRC the TS box is a timing only box like an Edge ez or Diablo power puck. Unless they've come out with something new. IMO, stick with the TST. If you're looking to the get a differant box try a blue chip FMS. If you're looking for more power and your pickup can handle it, send your TST in for a Comp upgrade. Cost around $50.

Guess I should have read your sig first. I'm going to assume that since you have a 6 speed you have an HO. With the HO it doesn't matter what box you have you're only going to get about 90RWHP out of the HO pump. If you want a good bump in power swap the HO pump out for an SO pump. IMO that's the best money spent.

are you talking about a TS-MVP?
if so, just simply ADD it to your current stack. i am running all 3 and have been for a while now. i like it - lot's of adjustability. as long as you don't run the SMARTY with timing you will be fine.
i sometimes run the SMARTY with timing, but just make sure my TS-MVP is turned down.
yes, the TS-MVP is adjustable on the fly, just like the TST-PM3. the TS-MVP is on a dial though (from about 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock ish)

great thanks I have been thinking of the SO pump swamp too. yes sorry the MVP is what I was asking about. what is the biggest differance with all three stacked together compared to just TST and smarty. . I'm still podering this **** itch I have either keep it longer and bomb the hell out of the truck more. or look into a common rail. not sure if I want a 6.7 yet.
thanks for the input

difference between TST/Smarty vs. all three:
TS allows you to have on-the-fly control over your timing, whereas Smarty needs a re-program to adjust. a benefit from this i have noticed is when using the cruise control - if it is surging then most of the surging goes away with adjustments to the TS-MVP.
also, the TS-MVP comes on really strong when turned up - it's a nice kick in the pants around 10-12 PSI.
when all three are stacked together - the smarty handles the fuel down low, then the TS and TST take over as the Smarty starts to taper off . . .
