TST question

ok so i installed my TST box and have been driving it around for a couple days.....

and i love it!!

BUT the box to stop fuelling at anything over what seems to be 75% throttle. the green light goes off, and the suck-you-into-your-seat feeling is gone.

whats the deal??

At what RPM are you at when this happens? It may be defueling if it is a PM1,2, or 3. May not be the case, but it is a thought. I think they might stop adding the fuel at 2700 rpms.

Sounds like truck defueling program, if at high rpm.
Get a Smarty and you will eliminate high torque/slow speed defueling (only on autos) and the top end defueling!

Even with the smarty the TST will stop adding fuel at 3000RPM. I had this problem. I talked with Mark at TST and he told me if I want the TST to fuel past 3000rpm I'd have to upgrade to the comp.

Oh yeah! THAT"S why mine will hit 3400 rpm. Thought the Smarty handled that.... guess not.

Was thinking it is 3000 rpm on the standard PM3 but could not remember. Guess it all depends on what rpm Pizzaboy is talking about... since the 3/4 throttle thing makes no sense, at least not to me.

im going to pay attention to the RPM today and see if thats exactly what the issue is.

it seems like it is more of a pedal related issue somehow... it stops fuelling before i get to even 2000 sometimes if i happen to be flooring it while the tranny is in lockup.

at first it seemed like a function of the boost pressure, but i can still feather it back up to 28psi and still have the box fuelling, so thats not the case.

ill update a little later today

thanks guys, any other ideas??

I've heard that if you have enough fuel say with the TST Comp or an Edge Drag Comp that the smarty will take the needle to 4K. Anybody else heard that??

ive got a tst comp, to stack with my smarty, on the way the end of this week. am i looking at breaking-tires-loose power? i can dump the clutch now on wet pavement and spin my duals in any gear, but whats this going to do on dry pavement? i cant wait now!

and a new turbo!

With my mods unless I'm doing a high rpm launch my tires won't break traction regardless what I do. Maybe a little hopping but not breaking the duals loose. Now on wet pavement I can get sideways quick, even at highway speeds

Might check all your TST connections, to be sure.... but it sounds a little like the 'low speed-high torque' defueling program that Dodge built into all 47RE trannys. Too much Tq. at very low speeds will defuel to protect against internal breakage.
I have never seen or heard of it once truck is moving... and green light going off indicates something within TST... like a connection????

i think that doug said that it was a special. he had to have it built to ship it to me. its upgradable to the 62/b2s400 twins.

I wouldn't think so...the TST doesn't start fueling until it see's boost!!

But what do I know...my TST fuels all the time
