Question TST Powermax 3 Comp Shudder???

How does a guy stop this "Shudder" effect?? It seems to only do it with levels 6-9. Just about makes me want to put the edge comp back on.(Yeah Right) Have to re-learn how to drive the old girl...

Just run it below level 6, that will stop the shudder Seriously though, if you are slower when letting up on the go pedal it will be less likely to shutter, other than that I dont know, I rarely run mine turned up that high on the street.

either turn it down or turn it off. mine dont seem to shudder on level 6 or below. but i keep it on nine and either run it on or off. (usually on )

and if you'll let out of it real quick it wont shudder. letting it out easy is what causes it

I haven't experienced the shudder cuz I'm only going to use the competition levels (6-9) for competition. I just don't want to work my vp44 too hard =\

Keeping it below 6 is the only way on the street although on my truck if I back out of the throttle slowly it won't do it.

run it on level 5...i really think that there is no need to run level 9 unless in competition where you wont be letting out of the throttle quickly. lately ive kept it on level 5 and i feel it runs best on the street at level 5 anyway. level 9 is too violent and i dont like driving it that way. i also notice that on levels 6-9 if you run one gear (manual) until redline even without letting off the throttle it will shudder and break up really bad.

im worried about hitting those high rpms during a sled pull in 4th gear and having it start shuddering with the sled behind me...that cant be good

So on TST level 9, I should let off the go pedal fast to stop the shudder, what about turbo bark? I tried level 3 and Smarty SW#9, it' seems to work very well!! What good combo's are you guys using?? (I have a 6 speed by the way)

I run my Catcher that is the same as 9 on the Smarty, what I noticed is that if I let off quick I get lil to no shudder, if I try to back off slow I get a bit more, other than the fact that the above combo just did in my input shaft, or output cant remember the correct one, and my flex plate was getting torn up its an awesome box, I feel 7 is where my truck runs the hardest on the street but I never really run it past 3 99% of the time.

well my tst is on 9 100% of the time and i have the box mounted on the dash and its either on or off. With the mach 6's ive got plenty of power and smoke so i usually run with it off. But when i need to acually get somewhere i just flick it on and im off

Nothing really. I had a TST Comp on my 99 and it shuttered pretty badly.

Ya know, you could always just call TST and talk to Mark or Scott about it. If they have the time they will let you gnaw their ears off with questions, but watch out because they'll gnaw your ears off with answers. They take their business very seriously and will provide you with more than you need to know. They're good people!
