TST plate or injectors?

I'm getting the full ATS stage 4 tranny treatment next week and am going to add a little power as well. I'm considering the #4 TST plate or the RV370 injectors. Only one for the time being I figure I may need a little more air for both. I use the truck as a daily driver, light tow vehicle (less than 6,000lbs) from time to time.
Only 6 days left .

Re:TST plate or injectors?

Im not real sure about the power #s for the #4 but I do know that I love my 370s ;D and thought they were great when I first installed them .Again I dont know exactly how the #4 compares to my #10 but I can tell you that even with my B1, that moves a LOT of air, my egts can get pretty hot if I dont watch em.
In short: my vote is for the injectors ;D. suitable egts, and a nice kick in the pants ;D. You can always go with a plate later if you make a tubo upgrade. This is just my opinion and Im sure others will tell you Im WRONG and I guess you could always go with the plate and keep it slid back a little... but whats the fun in that :.
Good luck
Scott

Re:TST plate or injectors?

Dollar -vs- hp / torque increase, would the plate be the best value? IMO it would be. Now, if you've max'd out on the plate, i.e. got a #0 plate, and want more, then go to injectors.

Re:TST plate or injectors?

Seems like most are recomending the plate over the injectors. That is good the plate is cheaper, and after springing for the trans there isn't much left. That is a good point too about sliding it forward to keep EGTs in check, thanks Got Smoke. How will the plate smoke? I would think it would be more controllable than the injectors. I don't mind smoke, actually want it but only when I want it. How about looking around for some used injectors from a 215hp truck to go with the plate?
Thanks guys only 5 days left. ;D

Actually you would slide the plate back for EGT control.

Honestly I would wait on the injectors. See how you like it with just the plate. Wildcat sell's 300's and 370's for the same price so do a little research and see what you would like, as well as keeping EGT's in mind. You will probably have to upgrade your air intake next after just the plate.

Honestly I wouldn't look into the 215's that much, because 300's can be found cheaper and will make a little more power.

Also one thing to consider with 370 injectors in a 94 160hp pump sometimes require the addition of delievery valves which cost about $250 to cure a stumble created by the lack of fuel to feed the injectors. Something to consider before purchasing.

Re:TST plate or injectors?

I've heard some guys actually like the lope the 370s give the 160 pump, most don't however. I will go for the plate for now.
dsljunkie, I may take you up on that. I want to see how much room as far as EGTs I have after the plate. If they aren't a problem I will most likely give you a shout. Thanks guys.

Only 4 days left until the new ATS tranny.

Re:TST plate or injectors?

I work this truck and can keep them under control grossing 35,000 lbs. in the hills.
It's a little tough but it can be done .
Just gotta tame that right foot.

After I empty this little box settin here beside me next week there shouldn't be as much of a prob.
