Which TST plate to choose?

Just wondering what TST plate number to go with. I really don't want to do any trans. modifications, at least not right off the bat. The truck that it wil be going on is a 94-96 auto....Also how hard is it to install yourself, being that the kit comes with a video and instructions.... I don't have to much diesel knowledge, but pretty good taking things apart and putting back together.......I will also be adding isspro - pyro, boost pressure, and trans temp guages.......Also a better air filter....Any suggestions on which type of air filter to use would also be appreciated......

If you're not going to do any tranny mods ... a #6 is what you want to put in there ...

Re:Which TST plate to choose?

I was real gun shy when I decided to install the #11 plate in my 97 5 speed. But looking back now...its a cake walk. One of the things that I did was I bought one of those manual impact tools that you hit with a hammer. There are a lot of different ways to remove those brake off screws but this way to me was the fastest and easiest..
Its not hard to make the change...the only problem is that after you make the change...you want more ;D ;D ;D

Rick

Where do you get one of those manual impact tools, and how much do they cost?

Re:Which TST plate to choose?

Would a #8 be a little safer for the stock auto since #6 is the highest the auto tranny can handle before any mods???

A #6 is rated for 230 hp and 605 torque when used on the 94 & 95 (160 hp stock) with auto. The #8 with a 96 auto (180 hp stock) is rated for 230/605 and the #6 is 250/635.

Jerry
