you take the 3 bolts and the break off bolt out from the top of the afc housing lift the housing up and place it aside. underneith it you will see the plate with two scews holding it in place

You can get all the info here: http://www.tstproducts.com/power_install.html
That should tell you all you need to know about how to get to the fuel (cam) plate.

Jim Fulmer How do you determine the best location on the fuel plate?
Trial and error, I had the chance to tune a truck on the dyno(no mine) and that is were I learned allot, I was making changes that were add or taking away 5-6 HP.....good run, add .020 more plate and it dropped 6 HP, went back and gained it back....helps when the guy that owns the truck also owns the dyno! Before that it was just making changes and making runs watching boost and EGT and seat of the pants levels, on my old pump I did do it at the track once and a mere .030 too much plate dropped 2 MPH, now that's not much but going from 110 to 108 does take power, now I can pretty much eye ball it when I install a plate and it will be close but still needs tuning to a point.

Trial and error is right. I've been playing with a guy's plate, afc and star wheel position for a couple months to finally get it just right. Just move it in small increments, do the type of driving you normally do, keep adjusting the plate, housing and star wheel forward till egts or smoke is too much, then start working your way back. You could do it in one day with lots of short runs in-between or spread it out with more representative driving in-between. Many times a guy will do adjustments with short runs, get it where he likes it then later hook up a trailer to find it isn't even close to where he would like it.
Big mistake many make is to not mark the stock positions of the plate and housing before messing with things. Makes it impossible to reference where you're at.

When I installed my 6 plate I removed the original plate which was full forward I set the 6 the same No one had been in the pump before me. empty I can just get to 1200* and towing I just keep my foot out of it I would really like to pick up the low end a little more and was considering delivery valves I found a set of laser cut valves for a reasonable price what is your thought's on these. Could I add dv's and then control egt's with moveing the plate to the rear? Or would the 191's Dv's be better?

Moving the plate back in small increments would probably allow you to use more of your power. Sounds hokey, but if you think about the small amount of movement of the lever in the pump to give you the increased Hp, its easier to let the governor to ride the plate than to have you try to control it with your foot.
Thats IMHO..

If you want more low end power move the afc housing forward a little bit or turn the star wheel towards the engine. A little on the housing goes a long way till you will get too much smoke. By a little I mean 1/16''. The star wheel is more of a fine tuning.

Infidel I have the afc full forward the spring backed way off and the governor lever adjusted. I have plenty of power but with the tight converter It is a little slow right off the bottom I adjusted the timming it was set at 19 I reset it to 15.5 and that helped a bunch. I called piers and he said if I changed the DV's that it would add around "40 hp and most of that would be on the lower end" so I thought I might try that whats your thoughts. I am also at 7000ft in elevation so that takes some away.

At 7000 ft I think you're pretty much stuck with low power till the turbo spools. This is where a smaller housing wins. Suggest you talk turbos with Piers or some of the other guys suppying them.
