Truck shutting off???
I was driving to work today coming to a stop light it shut off no power brakes and a blew through a red light. After stopping The truck wouldnt start cranks over but no start. codes where p 0645 and p 1693. erased the codes after work still no start i towed it home. On my codes sheet it said glow plug/ heater was the code that kept coming up? We dont have glowplugs right? I am freaking out now, i pull the rely from the fuel heater rely spot under the hood and exchange it with starter realy right under it and it started. it used the realy that i thought was bad to start the truck, how is that. It started in a way like when you change injectors like i had air in the lines. and suggestions i really dont want this to happen again and blow another red light. thanks mario

Well first off P0645 comes up as "A/C Clutch Relay Circuit" From my list. However i doubt thats where the rpoblem is. It almost sound like the Vp44 is dieing. Did you try starting it after you got it towed home before your switched the relays??? Yea your are correct we dont have glowplugs, just an air intake heater...

Fuel preasure can lie!!! It will show fuel preasure or air preasure. If you have an air leak the truck will quit but the guage will show good preasure. Mine did that, it took out the VP. The new VP went about a mile and quit just like yours. I found my airleak at the fuel module in the tank. At below 1/2 a tank it would suck up air.

I had a customer that had his truck towed in and that was the same story he told me. I crack the line and it started fine after that and he insisted that I take his truck home for the night and drive it around, so I took the truck and drove it for the night with know problems. He has not had a problem since, so I think it is posable to suck air bubble from the tank and cause it to do that, thats all I could come up with. He is setup is really close to what you have so thats my to cents.

No codes no problems runs fine. I think it might have done that air bubble thing it's possible. But that starter realy could have been it too because it relay's power to the vp. But it still cranked over just without starting fine? I dk wierd?
