I pass Nevada's smog test with Jammer 5's. Our test is not a snap test like CA, they actually strap our trucks down on a load cell roller drum just like a dyno and then put a sniffer..... opacity light sensor.

All you have to do is bring it up to 45mph and back down the zero with less than 30% smoke. With me behind the wheel, 0.7% to 1.5% opacity.

If you're worried about it, be sure to fill up with B20 biodiesel.

That sounds too logical and standardized. CARB had other ideas for us.

Ca smog won't apply to our older diesels that aren't in a "fleet" for several more years, if ever. Get your injectors and don't worry about it until the day comes.

Not trying to start any argument but most current diesel reg's are for "fleets" and heavy duty diesel engines- neither of which your passenger truck are part of. Older passenger trucks should be able to fly under the radar for several more years. Make sure any regulations you are reading are current.

There are two sets of regs. one covers fleet and vehicles over 15,000 lbs. the other covers all diesel pick-ups 1998 and newer, with no weight exemption. thats why we`re seeing guys on this site saying they have passed the new smog test, or that they have to take the test. the law on pick-ups became law in jan. with the enforcement beginning in april. if you live in a county that requires bi-annual smog test for gas engines, you`ll be getting a notice to get your diesel smogged every 2 years, depending on the last number of your vin. if your last number is even you get smogged in even years, odd vin number and you get smogged in odd years. Got this info from the smog referee where I used to work.

I'm taking mine in tomorrow!! I'm not very happy!! I will remove my Van Aakan and leave the rest. Now that they are smogging in Ca i won't put my F1- 1.5 injectors in until I leave Ca!! Can't wait till I can leave!!

you will need to put your stock program back. you shouldn't have any problem passing the test. They check your computer and look for codes and or programming. They do a visual smoke test, and look for other mods. He asked what mods I have and i told him no fueling. I took mine in yesterday. I removed my Chip and it passed with flying colors. They only do a visual for smoke.I asked the Tech why he didn't check for particulites in the exhaust, he said it wasn't required because we are under 14000Lbs gross vehicle weight. I don't have injectors but I thinking of putting in RV275 like you. I don't think i would pass with Mach 1.5's. He did he did have some concerns with my CFM+ intake but he couldn't find anything in the rules about that. He suggested I keep my stock intake in case the rules change. Good Luck.
