triple intercoolers are on....
Yep, I got my intercooler experiment plumbed up. I added two large intercoolers in a custom bumper. This all started cause I had a blow out on I15 and it tore the plastic off my oem bumper.
The tube bumper is not complete yet. I will be adding some more tubes, uprights and getting it powder coated red like the truck. In the "open areas, Ill mount polished aluminum diamond plate. The lower intercooler will have a built in air scoop and both the upper and lower will be screened for protection.
I ll ad pictures to my gallery now.
So far only a couiple test drives, but it seems to be running very very well. I have not don temperature readings yet, but the front upringht intercooler is almost to hot to touch on the inlet side and cold on the outlet, after a run.

Two more pictures added. I put in a couple uprights between the upper and lower bars. I will mount polished alumnum diamond plate inbetween the tubes, so all you will see will the the tube and the diamond plate aluminum. Ill screen the front, or cut a design into the front for the intercoolers. The two intercooler added are post big turbo and pre little turbo. Then after the little turbo it still goes through the oem intercooler. They are all in series now, but I will experiment with routing. I can tell you that even a mderate run a few blocks from the house, then drive back to my house, the first (front mounted upright) intercooler is almost to hot to touch on the inlet (and pipes) but is cold on the outlet. As for egt.....Ive got my 10 plate all the way forward, and see 1200 , maybe 1300 on a long wot pull to well past 100 mph. Before on the same sort of pull it would go past 1400 to 1500. I expect it to get even better when I enclose the rear/sides to force more of the available air through the cores directly. I don t know the power yet....it picked up about 5 psi with no changes, running about 50 psi now.

Not yet, I will , but I just got in together two days ago. I already have plans to change plumbing and check pressure and temps in several configurations. I need to finish the air ducting/ sealing on the bumper first, then test with all things being equal. I ve already decided I a couple small design changes before I make more of them.

1320, great experiment, keep us posted, I have a temp sensor in my intake horn and it is amazing to watch what happens on heavy pulls, you may want to do this as the air temp going into the intake is where it counts anyhow

Yes I know, Ill also have to know ambient though. I have a 4 channel thermo with peak/max hold so I can measure inlet, between turbos, pre intercooler and manifold air temp at the same time.
Figured I have a few boost gauges too, so Ill check pressures too.
If all goes well, Ill be able to do all the measurements on the same day with a few different plumbing setups..
