Transmission/torque converter upgrades

Hey guy's, can you please tell me who else besides ATS and DTT do transmission/torque converter upgrades, this is my first auto and I want to make sure that I make a educated decision on which company I use, my hp goals on my new truck are around 500hp and 1000 to 1200 ftlbs of torque. Thanks for any replys. Mike

Re:Transmission/torque converter upgrades

That too, they have a billet stator (there is a shrink fit ring around it, but the fins and hub are billet), billet cover and a triple disc clutch. I will try to post a picture of what I have. I went through their facilities last week, pretty impressive, they have been building tc's and race trannys for 40 yrs. They supply billet covers and TC parts to some of the big boys, they have done their home work on these TC's. I have a DTT tranny that I built in my truck now. I went all the way with everything they had at the time (billet clutch, billet input shaft and gear, new clutches, bands, sonnex 4th gear piston retainer, towing valve body and 89% TC etc.) It has been great, but I am going to sell it and build a tranny with thier parts and do some testing. It may not be that great, but I am pretty confident. Know anyone that wants a 1yr old DTT with 25k on it, very little towing and only a little hot rodding ?

If not DTT, then I would HIGHLY recomend SunCoast.

Re:Transmission/torque converter upgrades

MIKE,
This monday (09-22-03) I am getting my ATS transmission installed. It's a complete unit with new trany w/valve body, triple lock TC, commander contro unit. I will let you know how it goes, and what I noticed most, what didn't go well, and if I think it was worth it. I have high expectations about this upgrade, but will tell you the honest truth about the outcome. I made my choice based on what I had read, what others had told me, and by what I thought. I know there is alot of boosting and braging on this and any other site, but I do believe that when someone ask a specific question on here, our fellow web site friends do there best to give a truthfull and miningful answer. I found there comments to be very helpfull, I hope this and any future post I have helps you. Good luck
