Well at that power level you are gonna need more than just a valve body to make the auto live. If you plan on drag racing then go with an auto. If you plan on sled pulling then go with a manual. 12 valves are only offered with the nv4500, 5 speed, for a manual. If you just want a high HP street truck for fun, then I would go with an auto, if your budget can handle it.

Would a build auto also be good for pulls? I would strictly use it for a daily driver , ricer duster, and a dragger maybe. Im not going to be racing it at first. Ther is a fair in the summer that I might want to pull at. Also is the diesel manual fun to drive or is it more a pain. Cause my g/f has a jeep wrangler and I love driving that and shifting. Just curious if gets annoying or whatnot.

Secondly what is involved in a built auto besides a valve body, can you give me some suggestions??

grim if one was wanting to sled pull with a auto truck and big power it would be a good idea to do a full tranny with all billet shafts. and a tripple disk converter . something like a dtt , ats or a goerand just to name a few . but wich ever company you go with tell them that you are looking a sled pullling at times

I've pulled with mine nine time now and it does good. Build boost like you do for drag racing then take off. Let it shift until it goes into third and then enguage the lockup switch. When you start to spin out disenguage it. My average distance is 276' with two full pulls.
