Trans temp gauge

Hey guys, where did you screw in that steel T.C. in the transmission. Thanks.

Passenger side of trans, front of pan but on top in the corner just behind the bell housing, there is a 1/8" or 1/4" NPT I can't remeber the size.

Dave Goerend recommends the pan. The test ports aren't all that great because there is no fluid flow there. It's just a pressure test port. The cooler line is a popular spot if you want to see the fluid at its highest temp and you like to watch your gauge go up and down a lot. If you mount in the pan it also serves as a drain plug if you don't have one already. You need a threaded bung welded to the pan.
