trans, help!

My buddy drove all the way down to Florida from New Jersey to
get his transmission done just under two years ago.

His $ 800 imput shaft spun inside the hub.

The transmission supposedly has a two year unlimited mileage, unlimited horsepower warranty.

Assuming you all know of which tranny company I speak (Florida),
how would he go about getting this rectified?

They are not honoring the warranty.

Suggestions please, no tranny wars,
no "he should have gone with Company A or Company B"

This is not the way to handle the situation. First of all it isn't your tranny, you are going by what somebody told you. There may be a very good reason the company is not honoring the warranty, no way for us to know as you can't possibly know the complete scoop yourself.

Something like this needs to be dealt with through the vendor, and if they don't honor a warranty and you can prove it, then thats what they make small claims courts for.

Anytime you have a friend of a friend complaining about something, 99% of the time there is a portion of the story not being told. I am not calling you a liar, I am saying there is a very good chance you don't know the entire story yourself.

These forums are designed for people to get useful information, not as a place to try and exact revenge upon a vendor.

Doug60,

What was your buddy doing when he lost his input shaft? Any idea of how much horsepower he is making?

I'd take it up with the company. Go as far up the corporate ladder as needed until you get some help. If not, then it looks like small claims court is the way to go.
