Trans builder in So Cal?

I know there are quite a few reputable builders around the country...so does anyone know one in my area? I'd like to avoid shipping charges and warranty issues with someone from across the country. I want my 47re to handle around 450hp while towing 18K gross. The goal is to keep the whole unit under $3k. I will pull it my self and deliver it locally to the builder.

So who's good in So Cal?

On a side note...Where can I buy parts myself if I decide to rebuild it on my own? Billet shafts, converter, VB, clutches, etc.

And what would be the suggested list of parts to use?

40 miles East of LA on I-10

I just said "So Cal" because I don't mind going a hundred miles or so to find a guy I can rely on.

I am not really looking for a trans shop....I am looking for someone who is "known" for building dodge trannies to handle cummins torque. I know a guy here in town thats as good as anyone, but he doesn't "specialize" in diesel work, and thats what I really want....someone who knows what 1000 ft lbs does to a tranny.

well every diesel shop in town recomended them to me, the owners son is the one that does the diesels. hes going to readjust mine when i get everything on it. he rates his to hold 1200 ft lbs hes done a bunch of them and knows what hes doing. u want more then that u really should look at sending it off. i dont plan on going over 600 hp so this trans is great for me and it was the right price. they have a patent on there own vb they desined for these transmitions, how much more about the trans can he know?

Sounds about like what I'm looking for...Ballpark on the price?

I can pull it and have him bench build, or deliver the truck to him.

ya no kidding. i think ur 3 or 4 hrs away. i had them pull the trans build it. they even checked some seals for me and im takeing it back for them to adjust everything when i get my chip and injectors on it. it was all 3200 out the door. if you want to just go with the single disk tc its 2600. if you want to know anymore you should talk to him, i wasnt sure i wanted to go there till i talked to him and started asking questions. if you are going to talk to him ill get you his name and number and have you tell him i sent you there. might get me a discount if i need/want them to do something elce for me. haha
