I went about 50K miles with not too much trouble. Did install one torque convertor under warranty, but the damage may have been done from the previous owner as I knew they towed pretty heavy..........however!! I put RV275's in back in October and hurt the trans on new years day pulling a grade with the race rig in tow. The injectors were a great addition to the EZ for towing, but now I have about $1500 in trans parts and more on order so I can start rebuilding my extra trans.

An EZ won't hurt your trans at all. I strongly recommend it.

On my 01 I put in an ez at about 10k and added 275's at about 50k. I rebuilt my trans at 110k. My trans was not broke at that time and had had no trouble with it. However I also did not race or hotrod around or tow heavy. I did tow some but it was usually about 5k. I rebuilt the trans because I wanted to do it on my timeline not on the side of the road out in BFE. That and I was planning on getting a fiver soon and wanted to get it done before the heavy towing started.

I don't really tow much, maybe a 3K work trailer once a month but mostly a few dirtbikes to the bush. I don't hammer on the truck but maybe try and take a rice burner with a fart pipe once ina while, How hard is to hard on a stock tranny, like i said it's my first auto and don't really know much about them, thanks.

S.Dodge: You will be fineif you are only pulling 3k lbs occasionally. I drove mine pretty hard when the tranny was still stock. If you ask me; the main thing is to let out of the thottle when the TC is locking. That will help save your TC. But if eventually you want to do something for your tranny to help itout; throw a built VB in it, and you should be good for a long time.

Yeah for for it!!! As long as you don't beat the snot out of it, it will live long and happy (providing it's in good shape). But like said above, the EZ won't hurt the tranny.

You'll wonder how people can drive stock trucks after you put it on. Looking forward to hearing on how the injector install goes when the time comes! (and it will!!)

My tranny lasted about a year after the EZ went in. Truck was about a year old when I installed the EZ, TC started slipping on a trip to CA with a 10K 5th wheel. Probably only towed about once a month before the CA trip.

Be advised that it can ruin your stock tranny. Start saving for a upgraded tranny, lots more fun!

banks makes a big hoss box that will slightly defuel when gong into TC lockup. i think that is a great idea. there's a guy on ebay that sells them for around $405. pretty reasonbly priced. it has some other nice features also, diagnostics, high egt defueling, etc. i was thinking about one myself, but found a good deal on a bully dog instead.
