Where do you have the sender. In the pan or in the hot line? If its in the pan it may not register under normal driving for 10 minutes.

Be sure the sending unit is grounded. I've installed a couple where I had to run a wire to the chassis to get the gauge to read. Also, did you have to use an adapter for the sending unit? Some fit around the sending unit too close and don't allow for good contact with the fluid.

What temp does your gauge start at????
If it starts at 140......then it will hardly register with normaly driving, which may appear to not be working.

If it's only 68 outside you may not get a reading, Let it idle in traffic for a while that always makes mine jump up. It may be too cool for your gauge to get a reading.

My gauge reads down to zero so I have a good handle on how fast it warms.
On a 70° day if I go from cold to up to 55 mph + the gauge won't read over 100° for at least 50 miles. Once the TC is locked very little heat is generated. The only heat is coming from the coolant/atf cooler but then it goes up front to the cooler and gets cooled again. Drive around with the shifter in 1st or 2nd for awhile and you'll see it climb.

i have an isspro gauge starting at 140 degrees.

towrig- i have it hooked up using the supplied adapter and a 1/2" tee fitting and taped into the hot line using 2 -1/2" compression fittings. all were bought at napa and it all cost me like $12. look at rattlin rams pics he has it set up like i do. actually i have it like he does.

Do the lights in the guage work? The reason I ask is that I installed a set of those guages and they did not work either, but the lights did!! The problem that I ran into was the "tap" I used to power the green box did not pierce the supply wire. Once corrected everything worked great.

Your not gonna see it move much then. Normal driving/lockup should be right around 140 to 150 degrees.

Put it in drive and hold the brakes for a while..........then you should see it move past 140 degrees.

well i went through and checked the setup again it all checked out fine. so i thought i would take it for another drive so i took it to an empty parking lot and power braked 8-9 times and still no reading so i then sat there and with my foot on the brake for a good 10 minutes no reading so then i drove it in 2nd for about 4 miles at about 3100 rpm and still no joy. and to boot i have a tiny leak coming from the tee fitting because for some reason i brain farted and didn;t seal the threads with my liquid teflon i have left over from my fuel lines. so i'm gonna try and just put it on the outside and see if it will seal i doubt it will so i think i am going to have to take it off and reinstall it. any thoughts fellas do you still think i am not getting the trans hot enough to register? and is my attempt to seal even going to work? or should i just take it off and seal it?

I'd recheck the wiring. When you have the sensor out, take a lighter and heat the sensor and have someone in the cab watching the needle.
