tranny slipping?

I went too the track the other day and i ran 17.800@75.39mph.

Is this normal for a truck with as little done as i have? I am currently running 32 psi of boost which seems to be perfect right now, as when i put 'er to the floor the egt's actually drop from the initial turbo lag stage. And i have the edge ez....dual 5" exhaust, and stage 2 cold air intake.

It almost feels as though the tranny is slipping, because the 3rd gens stock run 16.2@82.7mph. And this is the 555. The 600 runs the same time but at 84 mph. now if everything is proper i should be running about 240-255 at the tires....meaning i should be running the same crank horsepower as the 3rd gens. And at roughly the same weight and gearing.....i should be the same times.

Anyone with some opinions??

By the way the tranny fluid is at the right level, and has no smell...as far as i know the fluid is just regular ATF+4.

Ehh, sorta. You only gain 65 hp below 2000 rpms. After that, it sorta falls off. What's your fuel pressure at? You might want to check that out.

2002 model trucks are rated at 235 HP and 460 TQ or 245 Hp and 505 TQ for the HO. Running an Edge Comp and power braking is a sure way to hurt a stock tranny..... How does your tranny fluid look? Maybe you should drop the pan do a fluid/ filter change and adjust the bands, just for assurance.

17 seconds is about right for a stock tranny with an ez. You could probably get down to the low 17's with a better launch but thats about all they do. Looks like you still have the hy turbo. It kills top end performance. With an ez and an hx35 off a manual truck when i first ran my truck at the track i was 17.1 17.2. Converter, turbo, wire peirced you will be in the 15's for sure
