Tranny question...someone exp. plz.

I am going to buy a git kit from banks, it has the torq. con. lockup protection. Banks claims 71 hp and 180 tq. they also claim that it does not reduce the reliability of the trans. How is that possible. The truck has 33000 miles on the tranny and has pulled a trailer maybe 500 miles of that. The trailer weighed in at around 4000 lb with this module do you think I am going to explode the trans or should a get another 30000 out of the trans. I don't drive the truck hard just want more power.

I'm throwing in my 2c- just my OPINION!

a: You may be lucky with more torque through your tranny or you may not be so lucky..and if you are not so lucky you're out of a load of $$$
b: AFAIK Banks doesn't actually warranty your tranny- and DC has it's rear covered on that- power mods will kill your drivetrain warranty. (Don't get fooled by Magnussen-Moss act- read the owners manual)
c: There's a load of power and torque improvers out there that will offer you a lot of punch for your $$$ - and there are some good companies that know how to make your tranny last. My experience with my DTT stuff showed me that even at stock power the better tranny added seat of the pants rear wheel HP. So I think going for a tranny first would be the best way.

Back here in Georgia, it just ain't so. You increase HP and you decrease tranny life. And Banks CS is not what you will like. Around here most everybody is going with Joe's tranny at Sun Coast. Not cheap but will last. We have trucks runnin upwards of 750 HP and still get on down the track with the Sun Coast.

Banks is overpriced, and their warantee, isnt a warantee just remember that. Just do a TC and VB from DTT, and put a comp on.

I installed the Suncoast intermidiate upgrade kit along with ATS TC / and VB. I'm really happy.
